WIESTY SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The woodworking skills of Harold S. Wiest are always on display in the worship space at Friedens Lutheran Church. Items designed and built by Wiesty pictured here include: the baptismal font; the Christ candle stand; pulpit torch stands; flower stands; and communion tray tables.

The Wiesty Scholarship Award is presented annually in memory of Harold S. Wiest, for his many years of service to church and community. Wiesty, as he was known by many, gave to others through his talents of woodworking, musical abilities and creativity.  His love for helping young people succeed could be seen throughout the Oley Valley community.

The purpose of the award is to encourage higher education of a student who has demonstrated a commitment to their community, their church, and has successfully completed the requirements for graduation from Oley Valley Senior High School.

The application may be downloaded in MS Word of PDF format. The application may be electronic or handwritten. However, the printed, signed copy must be submitted to the OVHS Guidance office or Friedens Lutheran Church office by April 15 of the year of the applicant's high school graduation.
