Friedens Lutheran Church calls The Reverend Donna M. House to be its next pastor.

The members of Friedens Lutheran Church voted to extend a pastoral call to The Reverend Donna M. House during a special congregational meeting on Sunday, July 13, 2014. Pastor Donna accepted the call at the conclusion of the meeting. Her first Sunday at Friedens will be August 24, 2014.

Pastor Donna began her current call at St. John's Lutheran Church, Nazareth, PA, in August 2009 while finishing her studies at The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Graduating in May 2010 from LTSP with a Master of Divinity, she was ordained in July and installed as Assistant Pastor in September that same year. Her ministry includes worship, preaching, teaching, visitation and pastoral care, also Evangelism, Social Ministry, and leading retreats for all ages.

She has a passion for music, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Sacred Music from Susquehanna University in 1982, has served congregations in Souderton, PA and Gilbertsville, PA as a church musician, and is currently Director of the Boyertown Area Choral Association.

Pastor Donna is married to Christopher who works for Five Star International Trucking in Allentown: their daughter Jordyn attends Towson University in MD; they reside in Boyertown, PA.

We are pleased to welcome Pastor Donna to Friedens, and we look forward to the start of our shared ministry!

The Reverend Donna M. House

Personal Ministry Statement

We are called to love God and our neighbors. How we choose to invest our love in one another matters. We are called in baptism to be a community that bears hope, joy, and reconciliation in the name of Jesus. My call is to equip and empower the baptized to hear, discern, and claim their particular baptismal call. Together we come to know who we are and what it is we are called to be and do as God’s people in relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ. This relationship is nurtured through daily prayer and reading God’s word, in fellowship and service, in worship as we come to God’s table of grace, and by following the example Jesus set for us to love and show mercy to all people in word and deed.
